Why should we invest in teaching preschoolers about God?

 Many people believe that playing with young kids is enough and that taking the time to teach, create games or worship is too much trouble for too few results.  These children are just little.  They have such small attention spans.  They can't learn about God.  Right? WRONG!  Research shows that the years from birth to age five are the most impressionable time of a person's life.  It is during these young years that values, beliefs, and behaviors are formed which will often stick with a person for the rest of his or her life.  The preschool years are crucial for developing a child's spiritual foundation.  This is when kids are most open to learning new things and have an unbelievable amount of trust in the principles taught them.  So the question is not: “Why should you invest in teaching preschoolers about God?”  Rather, it is: “Why wouldn’t you?”

Little Kids Shine Sundays

Age 2 – Kindergarten 

Our Sunday Services especially for preschoolers are kid-oriented and our curriculum is Biblically sound.  Preschoolers are welcomed into their age divided classes each week by secure, caring and FUN volunteers, a great time awaits them each Sunday.  We teach key scriptural truths that lay the spiritual foundation that a young person needs in order to enter a personal relationship with Jesus.  Concepts, stories, vocabulary, and music are chosen to be concrete and easy for preschoolers to comprehend.   Yummy snacks too!  It is a privilege to care for your children here.  Together as a team of volunteers, we are growing the future and we want to give them Jesus!  Our Preschool Wing located in the Upper Ministry Centre (Rooms 202,203,204,205).

Little Kids Shine is Making a BIG Difference!                                                           Our preschoolers are making friends in Uganda!  Each of our Sunday morning classes has a friend (Liz, Zahara, Kato and Wasswa) from the Suubi (meaning Hope) Home in Uganda, we are parterning with them - wanting to make a BIG Difference.  The preschoolers bring a small offering with them on Sundays mornings which is collected in their class, during teaching time.

Little Kids Shine Cubbies

Ages 3 & 4

A program that helps home become the primary place for spiritual training.  Cubbies is fun with a purpose – to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, snacks, awards and other activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.  Wednesday mornings from 9am – 11:30 am while young are at Mom's Connect.   

Requirement: Parents to do book work with their children in preparation for lessons.  Cost: $40 new child / $35 for returning Cubbies.

Little Kids Shine Opportunities

Volunteers are a necessity to keep our programs running.  Please consider volunteering, you'll be a bright light in the lives of these impressionable little ones.  Volunteer commitment is One Sunday/One Service per month for a Four month Term. 

Preschool Teacher
Oversee a class of children, ensuring a stable learning environment for the children, delegating responsibilities to helpers and preparing yourself for the lesson plan.

Preschool Helper
Supervise a group of five to eight preschool children (ages 2 to 5) and assist teacher during the LIttle Kids Shine Classes.
